We look forward to the milestones in our children's lives. When they first smile, take their first steps, start on solid foods, go to the bathroom by themselves. After having three children, the milestones, don't seem as important with the last child as they do with the first. Of course it is still important and you are proud of your child for their accomplishment, but the fizzle seems to wear off a bit.
Every night I have the same routine, dinner, bath and bed. With Savannah the bed time varies depending on the last bottle and how much mommy time the other kids need. So the other night, I laid her in her bed with her pacifier while I read the Ryan and Aleesia a bedtime story. I was expecting to get through one book before Savannah would need my attention again. So I was surprised when after 3 books I hadn't heard her. I kissed Ryan and Aleesia and then went to check in on Savannah. She was knocked out. I was so surprised. Usually she has to be held to fall asleep. She has reached her first milestone and I'm so happy about that. It gives me a little more time with the other guys for the bedtime routine.
We've had a lot of milestones here in the past few weeks. Savannah falling asleep by herself. Ryan is walking and Aleesia is learning to dress herself. She has the pants, underwear, and socks. Now we have to get the shirt and shoe thing down. Aleesia is starting to get so independent, it's hard to help her with some of these things when we are in a rush to get out of the house.
I am so proud of my little monsters....can't wait for the next milestone.
